Garmin International Inc. recently introduced the BC 50 and BC 50 with Night Vision wireless backup cameras that help drivers clearly see the environment behind their vehicles and reverse with confidence. The BC 50 with Night Vision offers Garmin’s proprietary NightGlo technology that can illuminate up to 20 feet behind a vehicle for optimal visibility at night or in dark settings, according to the company. According to Lippert, CrossWing provides the only visible direct-strike system, unlike other lightweight hitches that have a hidden striking surface. This eliminates the need to exit the vehicle to check positioning or when coupling on uneven terrain. Continental Ultrasonic Back-Up Sensor Kit

Backing up into a campsite isn’t the easiest task in the world — especially when attempting it without a spotter. Continental AG has released an Ultrasonic Back-Up Sensor Kit that can be retrofitted to or incorporated as OEM for virtually any vehicle — including RVs. The innovative, easily installed system includes four sensors, a central control unit and a speaker and provides an audible alarm to the operator when the vehicle comes within 10 feet of an object — and beeps faster as the driver gets closer to the obstacle. The kit can also be customized for specific distance intervals to meet OEM specifications.

The system also easily integrates with on-board camera/monitor systems (available from Continental as options). When paired with a back-up camera system, a monitor will display an overlay, revealing the active sensor(s) and the object distance from that sensor. Spartan Power SpartanStart Soft Starter

Summer camping is what we live for — but without the ability to “escape” to an air-conditioned RV, it can also sometimes be a sweaty mess. Unfortunately, the initial power requirements of a rooftop A/C unit usually demand shorepower or a big AC generator. Blue Ox BXR Series Fifth Wheel Hitches

The name “Blue Ox” is familiar to anyone who tows a travel trailer or hooks up a dinghy behind their motorhome. Now, the Pender, Nebraska-based supplier has entered the fifth wheel hitch market with its new BXR Series which, said company officials, need no adapters. The BXR2100 5th Wheel Hitch connects to a bed-mounted 2-5/16-inch Gooseneck ball and offers a 21,000-pound gross towing capacity and 5,000-pound vertical load limit, while the BXR2410 5th Wheel Hitch connects to industry standard rails and features a 24,000-pound gross towing capacity and 6,000-pound vertical load limit.

Both designs feature a funnel-shaped hitch head that helps to guide the kingpin into place, reducing the rate of false hookups and trailer drops, and 360-degree nesting around the kingpin. Additional features include a dual articulating head (front, back and side-to-side) and adjustable height (17 inches, 18 inches and 19 inches).
