Fleetwood RV Debuts Frontier GTX with ‘Corner Office’
RV interior
RV in the outdoors
Remote work — it’s what RVers across the country are doing, and Fleetwood RV is making that scenario easier with the introduction of its brand-new Frontier GTX Class A luxury motorhome that features a dedicated office. The Frontier GTX 37RT floorplan includes an office that’s been designed to deliver the space, technology, convenience, and privacy needed by those working from the road.

Built on a Freightliner raised-rail chassis powered by a Cummins 7.6-liter 360-hp diesel engine, the Frontier GTX 37RT is a 37-foot motorhome with three, flat-floor slideouts that deliver plenty of interior room. The Corner Office is an option and is strategically located at the rear of the coach so it’s away from daily life activities.

The space is cleverly arranged and includes an L-shaped desk with a built-in monitor and multiple nearby outlets. A large window tops the desk to bring in natural light and deliver a view of the outdoors. Drawers below and cabinets above provide convenient storage within easy reach for files and other supplies. A stylish barn door of frosted glass and wood closes off the space when ultimate quiet and privacy are needed. To ensure phone and video calls go off without a hitch, the GTX offers an optional connectivity package that includes WiFi Ranger Sky4 ProPack w/LTE and weBoost Cell Booster.

For Tech Help in a Hurry
Tech locator search button
While RV Enthusiast is dedicated to the premise of helping RVers effect their own repairs, maintenance and upgrades, sometimes problems crop up that require professional assistance.

Fortunately, the RV Technician Association of America (RVTAA) and the National RV Inspectors Association (NRVIA) have made changes recently to their online locators intended to make it easier for people to connect with professionals.

For example, the RVTAA website now allows people to narrow searches based on a technician’s ability to diagnose and repair Lippert, Dometic, Aqua-Hot and Splendide equipment as well as those who specialize in servicing RV generators or installing solar systems. People can also search for technicians who are registered, certified or master certified.

On the NRVIA website, people seeking RV inspections can see the locations of master certified and certified RV inspectors. On both sites, consumers can click on a specific locator pin to view more information about any business and read the technician’s or inspector’s profile.

To locate technicians, visit rvtaa.org. To find inspectors, visit nrvia.org.

Keystone RV Debuts Arcadia Super Lite
Keystone RV Debuts Arcadia Super Lite render
When Keystone RV released its new Arcadia for the 2022 model year, the innovative fifth wheel (and, later, a travel trailer) earned the manufacturer “2022 RV of the Year” honors from RVBusiness magazine.

The new line of fifth wheels is intended for the huge half-ton-towable marketplace, with lengths that will range from 28 feet to 34 feet. Two floorplans are initially available: the two-slideout 3250RL and the 3370BH. As the names suggest, the 3250RL is a 32-foot, 5-inch rear lounge configuration. With a dry weight of 9,019 pounds; the 3370BH weighs 9,487 pounds dry and stretches the tape at 33 feet, 6 inches. MSRPs are $63,652 and $67,308, respectively.

According to Keystone representatives, the Arcadia Super-Lite is designed to take advantage of a sweet spot in the market: models will weigh hundreds of pounds less than competitors in this class and have more features.

Like its bigger brethren, the Arcadia Super Lite fifth wheel is built with all of the Arcadia’s unique design features — including a “forward-leaning” design of the front cap for added interior room, enhanced storage capability, comfortable “farmhouse” interior décor and, most importantly, the Arcadia’s NGC2 chassis, which is designed with a “crawl space” for routing of plumbing, electrical and heating ducts.

Escapees Debuts Mobile App
Escapees Mobile App
Escapees RV Club logo
Receiving mail is but one of the dilemmas that full-time RVers face — but there are workarounds. One of the best is to join an organization such as Escapees RV Club. In mid-august, the club released a new app with a host of benefits — not the least of which is a member’s ability to update mailing instructions, view and manage mail scans and review mailing and postage history.

The app offers other benefits, as well. With it, members can update their account information, manage membership settings, access member directories, contact the Member Services team, and more. Essentially, with this app, members have access to their account anytime, anywhere. Features such as the discount park directory make it easier to find savings on camping across North America, while the Commercial Directory lets members check for savings before purchasing items like tires or accessories, or services such as insurance, roadside assistance and more.

To learn more and download the app for both Apple and Android, visit Escapees.com/mobileapp.

Renogy Introduces All-in-One Energy Management System
Renogy Introduces All-in-One Energy Management System
Renogy, a leader in renewable solar energy products, has released Renogy One, the first all-in-one Energy Monitoring and Smart Living Center. Through an easy-to-use unit and interface, Renogy One enables users to monitor and control battery power levels, charge controllers, inverters and other connected devices at a glance. Renogy One is also designed to integrate with Internet of Things, or IoT products, allowing users to create “smart scenes,” which streamline daily routines to build a smart and connected home.

Renogy One is the first comprehensive touchscreen gateway on the market that can monitor and manage energy systems, while also enabling users to configure smart life scenarios via IoT (the Internet of Things). This means smart home products can also be automated and monitored. Through this feature, users can set triggers to place their Renogy system into energy-saving mode or sleep mode.

Additionally, Renogy One can be customized to alert users when doors and windows are opened for increased security or to ensure they’re not left open while the air-conditioner is running. Smart plugs and relays can also be incorporated and controlled by the system, ensuring appliances or devices aren’t still drawing power while in standby or idle mode.

Renogy One works with all Renogy products including solar charge controllers, DCDC Chargers, inverters, battery storage, and Renogy’s new flagship REGO series. This means users can monitor and control their system from one easy-to-use panel. In addition, they’re also able to collect data and perform diagnostics across their systems with just a few taps.

Generate Your Own Water Out of Thin Air
Trailer generating water
Earlier this summer, NewAtlas.com reported on the 2023 Living Vehicle (livingvehicle.com) that included an optional water generator that makes clean drinking water from ambient humidity — even in the desert. The Watergen atmospheric water generator (AWG) pulls in atmospheric moisture with a fan, extracts it via condensation, runs it through a multi-step filtration and purification process and dispenses it. It’s said to be capable of generating up to 19 liters of water per day.

Of course, not everyone can afford the $339,995 ticket price for the wildly innovative travel trailer. For those who live on the road in more modest vehicles, Seattle-based startup BluOasis (bluoasis.com) offers a more flexible mobile water-making solution. The all-new BluMobile trailer puts deployable solar power generation, lithium battery storage and water-making capabilities atop a military-grade off-road trailer chassis, providing autonomy to RVers, overland explorers, permanent off-grid inhabitants and everyday adventurers. The trailer even features accommodations for four people, allowing it to work behind an RV or as an RV.

BluOasis starts its work with an ultra-rugged M1101 utility trailer that would usually be found following a Humvee on official military business. Instead of trying to turn that cold, hard metal trailer into a warm, cozy camper, it focused on creating a different style of utility trailer that just happens to have enough space to get four people up off the ground and sleeping inside its walls.

Ford F-150 Lightning Fails Towing Test
Ford F-150 Lightning Fails Towing Test
Before you hitch an Airstream to your electric truck and set out to circumnavigate the country, understand this: With the largest available battery pack, a fully charged 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning EV has less energy onboard than a regular F-150 with four gallons of gas in its tank, according to a report by Motor Trend.

Simply stated, the towing range of the electric F-150 is dismal.

Motor Trend performed its testing with the top-shelf $92,669 Platinum trim, which includes the larger battery and has a standard towing capacity of 7,700 pounds. The Max Trailer Tow upgrade, which wasn’t equipped on the test truck, raises that to 8,500 pounds.

The test, performed while towing a 2022 Grand Design 2910BH weighing 7,218 pounds, achieved a range of just 90 miles. Even the lightest trailer used for the test, a 17-foot, 3,140-pound Forest River R-Pod RP-153, only resulted in a range of 115 miles.

While EV cars and trucks may be the wave of the future, manufacturers apparently have a way to go before they replace a decent internal combustion-powered pickup truck used for towing.

Heartland RV Expands with 81,000- Square-Foot Parts Warehouse
Heartland RV Expands with 81,000- Square-Foot Parts Warehouse
Heartland RV executives — like many others in the RV industry — are focused on quality manufacturing. They also understand that the rigors of life on the road mean that sometimes, things break — and there’s nothing worse than a vacation cut short while an owner waits for service and replacement parts.

To minimize such downtime, Heartland RV has recently expanded its Service and Quality Campus to 212,000 square feet with the addition of a new 81,000-square-foot parts warehouse. The service and quality campus, by the way, contains a 53,000-square-foot retail service center that includes five pads with full hook-ups for overnight RV parking and 26 repair bays for Heartland RV owners bringing their towable units to the factory for work.

The new indoor parts warehouse will store components in a centralized location, serving as the hub for Heartland’s Service Department, which supports their nationwide network of service providers and retail customers. The new warehouse will feature state of the art equipment that facilitates increased efficiency.

“We know that life on the road can be adventurous, spontaneous, and unexpected. We build our RVs to be able to stand up to every challenge you might come across while traveling,” said Jim Fenner, vice president of customer service, engineering and quality. “This building will allow us to immediately add 40% more parts, an in-house cabinet shop, and more than 3,000 square feet of indoor metal storage with dedicated shipping operations.”

The REI Co-op Special Edition Basecamp Travel Trailer features more environmentally friendly design choices aimed at reducing impact, such as fabrics and laminates made from post-consumer recycled materials, a cutting board sink cover made from recycled paper and cabinetry crafted from lightweight and sustainably grown wood.

Additional sustainability features that also enable a better off-grid camping experience include a recirculating water heater, an optional composting toilet, an advanced UV-LED and pre-filter water purification system and an exclusive solar upgrade that includes 360 watts of flexible rooftop solar panels and a 200Ah battery bank for on-the-go sustainable power

With an MSRP of $52,000, the 16-foot travel trailer includes exposed birch-ply cabinetry, durable stain-resistant upholstery and rugged raised-coin flooring that provides a textured, slip-resistant surface.
